Gardner's six-month checkup was this morning. As I write this, the poor little man is sleeping off the trauma of the 3 shots he received. I expect him, like last time, to have a fever for the next couple of days. Hopefully he'll feel better by Easter Sunday.

Gardner weighs 15lbs. 5 oz. and is 26" long. He is in the 15th percentile for weight, and 45th percentile for height. Petite and slim, but still well within the norm, said Dr. Treash. So my worries were put at ease. We were commended for starting him on vegetables last week. He loves carrots! I start green beans with him this weekend.

We received the "ok" to give him a sippy cup, about which I had read conflicting advice. Gardner is learning to take a "big boy" cup already, and the doctor said that was excellent. Adding the sippy cup to that, plus nursing, just helps to further expand his horizons when it comes to oral development and ability. It may make weaning easier later on, as well, which is welcome news.

I am looking forward to his first Easter. If he feels up to it, we plan to dye eggs this afternoon. Sunday evening we are having an easter egg hunt for him and his two cousins, Arianna and Savannah (born last Friday!). I found an adorable light blue pinstripe overall set for his "Easter outfit." I hope to find a hat, too. We will see. I don't want to get too crazy with it!
