First maternity clothing bought! Mom went shopping with me in Greenville on Monday and I was able to find 4 pairs of pants and three tops. I am still needing more, though; I noticed as I tried all of them on together. I need some more neutral-colored pants, some shorts, and a sundress or two. And I can always use more tops. I plan to go this coming weekend to some maternity consignment stores to look for shirts. Basic knits that I can wear around the house don't have to cost a fortune.
I was disappointed to find that most of the pants out there are panel front, meaning they are uncomfortable to me since I'm used to wearing my pants and jeans very low on my waist! The newest "below the belly" styles are hard to find and usually exclusively priced. I don't plan to give up yet. I still have the Old Navy to shop in Columbia or Charlotte, two of their few stores that carry maternity wear. And there are always catalogs if I get that desperate.
We've been looking at catalogs for cribs.....I still have my heart set on a metal antique-replica crib. Ken prefers white. We will see where these differences lead! It really depends on whether we find out what we're having. If we are having a girl, I am all for a white crib.
Ken is so psyched that I am cooking like normal again. Last night he hugged me at least three times and thanked me for preparing such a wonderful lasagna dinner. I am glad that I can still take care of him, and that I feel more up to cooking his favorite meals again now that the sickness has subsided. I now know how Moms feel when their children and husband rave about their dinners....I hope to be a mom that can whip up a healthy and tasty masterpiece every night, much like the woman in Proverbs did. I am really looking forward to taking care of the family God is giving me.
Well, I have to go get bloodwork done at the AnMed lab sometime in the next two weeks so that they will have the results by my next appointment, April 16th. Not looking forward to doing that, but it is only one of two times (unforseeing any complications later) where I will have to suffer through that fear of fainting. :-)
I have been thinking about renting a doppler for a month or two....to hear the baby's heartbeat whenever I want to. I will have to decide on that; it is pretty pricey. They have ones that you can record sound bytes into and then save them on a computer or email them to family and friends. I've heard if you listen long enough, too, that you can hear your baby's hiccups. That would be awesome!
More later.... I start on my 14th week tomorrow, and I'm starting to really show. Ken will place some photos of my belly's progress on this site soon. We have been keeping track of it since the beginning!
