Another doctor's visit today! I saw a different doctor, Dr. Herbert. Dr. Herring was called out right beforehand to a delivery! How cool. Ken and I both really liked Dr. Herbert. Next month I am scheduled to see Dr. Nordeen. This is who Suzanne had and she can't say enough good things about him (he's also a member of our church). I figured seeing all of them and getting comfortable with how each operates will make me less disappointed if Dr. Herring happens not to be on call when I go into labor. It's nice to know I'll be so well taken care of either way!
Well, my first "complication" of pregnancy has been diagnosed....I have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand/wrist. I had suspected that's what it was, and my suspicions were correct. Turns out 1 out of 3 pregnant women develop it during gestation. Who knew!?? It has to do with the swelling and extra blood volume in the veins. Makes sense, though. At least there is a good chance that it will disappear after the baby's born. So now I have a wrist/hand brace that I have to wear as often as I can. It's a little uncomfortable, but if it will help my hand not hurt or go numb when I write or type, it's worth it. Not too fashion-forward, I must say, but hey. Neither are maternity clothes. :-)
Dr. Herbert said I am perfect in all other categories....my growth (tummy span), weight gain (4 lbs. in 4 weeks), blood pressure (98/60), and protein levels were "top notch." I am once again thankful to God for being blessed with such an easy pregnancy.
