Gardner is 1 month old today!!!
Also, 4-week follow-up/check-up with Dr. Hearn today. At last, I can finally resume normal exercise...even abdominals, and kickboxing! :0) Dr. Hearn said everything healed up perfectly; he only had to clip off an extra knot in my stitches. Ouch, but not a big ouch. He was glad to see that breastfeeding is such a success for us, and it further encouraged me that I'm doing it right! Sometimes a mom needs a little bit of confirmation....
My blood pressure was still low, as always (90/70)....I have now lost 16 lbs....9 more to lose if I want to get back to pre-baby weight. But I agree with Ken that I was too skinny before. I plan to start weightlifting again to build more muscle tone. I think what I weigh now is just fine, and Dr. Hearn agreed wholeheartedly. It's refreshing to have a doctor talk with you about every issue, even these, which are not directly related to birth itself. I can really tell he wants to be more than just a doctor to his patients.
What I can't wait for is to tighten up my abs again so I can go clothes shopping. I long for new jeans, and new cordoroys. I have been relishing the use of my fall and winter tops from last year....ahh, I missed them so much! This coming week I plan to finally clear out and pack up all of my maternity wear. Enough looking at it daily in that closet of mine.
Little Gardner is growing in leaps and bounds! He has his 1 month checkup tomorrow, and I am expecting him to weight close to 8 lbs. now. He is now fitting somewhat into his 0-3 month clothes, not just newborn sizes. I bought him two adorable (and trendy/hip) outfits yesterday....he will be in those by Christmas. Shopping for kids is so much fun!
His belly button stump fell off yesterday! A little bit gross, but not too bad! I think he's going to end up with an "inny." He also giggles in his sleep now. It is so fun to just watch him sleep. His expressions are so numerous, and his eyebrows so expressive! He loves to stare at his daddy. He stares at Ken so intently, and he gets so still and motionless when he peers into his face. It is so sweet.
