I'm glad to say that I finally had my first "baby dream," although it was a strange one at that. In my little dream world, I delivered twin girls who were extremely premature. The nurses came up to Ken and I and said that since the girls would have to stay in NICU for 1 or 2 months, they would just send a couple of "loaners" home with us. This way, they said, we wouldn't have to go home empty-handed. "Oh, okay," we said, it all making perfectly good sense to us, of course, in this la-la land. So we toted the twin girls home, the loaners, in hopes that we could soon go back to get our "real" children in a few weeks. Weird!

We're expecting snow here in the upstate tonight and tomorrow, and so alas, the trip Ken planned for my birthday had to be postponed. He was excited about taking me to Asheville for a couple of days, but it looks as if we might move it to next weekend.... I know he is so disappointed. He has had so much trouble planning this "surprise" for me from the get-go. I just want things to work out so he will feel as if he has totally made my day!! (of course, he makes my day EVERY day just by being the wonderful husband and best friend that he is....) :-)

Got my hair cut today, right to my shoulders. I am NOT going to be a typical young mom who goes "chop-chop" once motherhood hits. This is as short as I will go. I'm actually wishing it wasn't quite THIS short, but hey, my hair does grow VERY fast due to these prenatals I'm taking, so it'll long again in no time. I hope Ken likes it. He likes my hair whether it's long OR short. I really don't think I could ever do anything to REALLY make him not like my hair....unless I dyed it blonde or black or something.

Speaking of hair....I wonder what color hair our baby will have? There's a pretty good chance of it having red in it, but then again, I think Ken's hair color might be dominant. One thing's for sure, I'll be surprised if his/her hair isn't curly. I looked like a red-headed Shirley Temple as a toddler, and Ken....well, he still has that natural curl to tend to. There's just no telling how these two genes will blend.... I can't wait to see!

Peace, love, and snow.....
Meg
