Well, today is a cloudy and misty day, and I think my body knows it. I feel sicker today than I ever have, and I just want to stay indoors away from the loud smells and sounds out there! I am (still according to my own guesses) 6 weeks 6 days today. I was worried about feeling sick so early, but when I looked at what others online have posted on medical and pregnancy sites, plus what I've heard from friends, 6 weeks is the norm. I don't know why I was thinking 8 weeks was the magic number....
It has been hard to plan my grocery lists this week or two. Every recipe I find, when I sit down to read over it, I can't even imagine cooking and eating it! I also have to eat when these fleeting hunger spells arrive....though what I want is so inconsistent. I've already been halfway through the preparation of one meal and realized I can't stomach the thought of eating it, so I'll put it up and start something else. I know I'm sort of indecisive, but this is ridiculous!.... But what a new experience all of this is! Though it's tiring at times and so confusing, it is all worth it when I reach down and pat my belly and remember our little one who's in there. :-)
Yesterday I went and shopped (with Mom and Arianna) for the very first time for this baby, although I didn't find too much. It is really difficult to find clothes, blankets, etc. that are neutral in color for either boy OR girl. So much pink, so much blue....and then the things that ARE white, yellow or green have gender-specific embroidery on them such as flowers, helicopters, or frogs! Guess I can wait a while longer till we find out what our baby will be! From what I've read, that will be at about 20 weeks....
Going to go grab my ginger ale!
Till later,
Meg :-)
