Gardner is now 3-1/2 months old, and he is getting to be such a personable little fella. He is getting his first tooth! His bottom right tooth is just starting to peek out of his gums. It isn't making him too fussy, but he is chewing and drooling on EVERYthing. We must go through 4 or 5 bibs a day now. Although I am so glad he's growing and getting big, it's kind of sad to think that this means that he is on his way to eating solid foods. I can't believe it is flying by so quickly. It seems like he was born just yesterday.

He is cooing as he has been for a while, but now he has learned a new sound. He purses his lips together and creates a "bbbb" sound. His simple vowel sounds of "ooo" and "aah" are turning into consonant sounds right before my eyes. He grabs his little hands in front of him and lets his "bbbb's" resound, complete with spit bubbles! It is so fun to converse with him while I'm cleaning, cooking, shopping, or even doing Tae-Bo! He is quite the little entertainer.

Christmas was wonderful, and so many sweet memories were made. Gardner was given lots of cool and educational toys and books. He has really been enjoying going from one to the other each day.....every day he feels as if he has brand new toys to play with (I like this age!). He got so excited on Christmas day that he spit up 4 times while he opened his presents, still oohing and aahing between gifts!

Today Gardner and I are enjoying a leisurely, cloudy day at home. No errands need to be run; we are just staying inside and getting some things done at home. I have a loaf of sourdough in the oven that is wafting its fragrance throughout the house, and I realize each time I bake a loaf or any other goodie that I really want to teach him how to cook with me as soon as he's able. I want him to be able to amaze the girls one day (and his future wife) by showing them a 5-course gourmet meal at a moment's notice. :0) Of course, I also want him to learn manly skills, as well....hiking, fishing, sports, and even hunting if he so chooses. I want him to feel free to learn anything and everything. :0) It will be so much fun to see where his interests really lie as he grows into a young man.

:0) Meg
