A couple more firsts....

Gardner decided to show off while I was at my mom's house yesterday, helping in the garden. First of all, he was standing up holding to the coffee table in the den. Mom rolled a ball to him, and he picked it up with both hands and put his mouth on it. We both looked down and realized that he was standing without holding on to anything! He remained this way for a few more seconds at least. I can't believe he will be standing and walking in no time at all.

Then, as we were getting ready to leave, Mom had him in her arms and was kissing him goodbye, making him laugh by pressing buttons on the cordless phone (why do babies love phones so much?). He suddenly looked right at her, opened his mouth wide, and gave her a smack on the lips! Mom looked shocked! He leaned over and gave her another one on her cheek, this time with a "mmm-aaaah!" kiss sound that we do to him so much. He picked it up and mimicked it before I could even blink!

My little baby son is turning into a little boy, and it's happening so quickly. That's one reason why I'm frantically getting his baby book/scrapbook completed this week. I am almost caught up to date, and pretty soon, I will have all of his precious keepsakes and priceless photos mounted in a safe and enjoyable-to-look-at album.

Here are two of the pages. Ken and his wonderfully creative mind assisted me with the Christmas page:
